A small cottage style home designed for lifetime living with a spectacular river view was the desire of this mature couple. Efficient use of space was critical to keep this First Floor Master Suite home both comfortable and compact.

Situated at the edge of a river valley, the sloping site presented challenges to the primary one-floor living design. By utilizing stone retaining walls and a built-up stone patio, we were able to nestle the house comfortably into the earth while emphasizing the river view.

The resulting design met our client's desires for a house both cozy and comfortable, and containing that cottage charm which they desired.
